Online Tutoring: Anywhere, Anytime
Free online tutoring is available with access to Smarthinking via Trevecca’s online course website called Connect. With Smarthinking, students can access a live, one-on-one session with a Smarthinking tutor; submit writing for any class to the online writing center for review; and send offline questions to a Smarthinking tutor anytime. If students have questions about grammar, style (APA or MLA), organization, or content development, assistance can be found in the Drop-In Tutoring area. This option can also support students with pre-writing activities such as brainstorming, outlining, or thesis development. If students are ready to submit a draft for review, it may be submitted to the Writing Center. A professional writing tutor will review each paper and provide feedback within about 24 hours. Students may connect with a live tutor by choosing the subject area under Drop In Tutoring to share a chat session with a professional tutor. Students simply type a question, click, and a tutor will be available in just a few minutes. Once connected, students will have the undivided attention of the tutor. The SMARTHINKING Technical Support team is available to assist students through an online knowledge base as well as a live customer support team should students have any questions or difficulties in accessing the service.
